1.33L Dual VVT-i Engine
Toyota have replaced the existing VTT-i 1.3L (2SZ-FE) and 1.4L (4ZZ-FE) petrol engines with an all new 1.33L Dual VVT-i engine (1NR-FE) which incorporates the Toyota Stop & Start System.
The New power unit has been designed to increase power and drivability while and reducing CO² output and fuel consumption, while been compatible with a wide range of vehicles.
A power performance that surpasses the competition is achieved by paralleling the optimised gear ratios of the engine and 6 speed gearbox. And the adoption of Dual VVT-i (Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent) that continuously and variably controls the timing of the intake and exhaust valves. Dual VVT-i allows the combination of enhanced torque during low and medium engine speeds and enhanced output during high speed, and also as a measure for emissions and to enhance fuel economy.
Further reductions to engine weight, internal friction and vibration, all contribute to and excellent all round package.
